Sorry for the delay—been Hella Busy working on projects! But here we go!

First up is a Pinup done for Todd Knauck’s Wildguard book, which will be in Issue 3. Yep you may recognize the homage to the Great Arthur Adam’s Classic X-men cover—hey why mess with perfection?

Also a couple of Commissions, Blade, Deathblow, Joe Fixit aka the Hulk, and a Wonder Woman/Supergirl commission, it’s been ages since I’ve drawn Wonder Woman, though I think I have a long way before I’m comfortable with my take on her.

Also up are about 30 sketch cards done for the Marvel Masterpiece Wave 2—I painted ALL of these bad boys up. I’m also doing some fill-in work for JJ Kirby’s book New Dynamix! I wrapped up 11 pages for issue 4, which drops in June—do pick it up!

Also some World of Warcraft cards as well as a Lich King pinup done just for kicks—man it’s too bad no one is doing a Warcraft comic featuring this guy….;) and man that Helmet is a pain in the Butt to draw.

Oh, I’m also doing some Web Comic stuff on the side, featuring my Riot GRRRL character, so drop on by to: comicstripclub.com

And Check it out, post comments and make yo’self at home! More Big stuff next week and Con News as well so Stay Tuned!!! -JONBOY

Heya guys! More stuff to Post up this week! First up is a Cover done for a Book Called Animus as well as some commissions that I’ve wrapped up in the past week and a half. I also FINALLY completed a Warcraft Tauren Commission for my buddy Eric Callen who was kind enough to swap this for an art piece for my Inker Mark Irwin. Thanks Eric you’re a Champ man!

And here’s Specialty card for the upcoming VS. Set, featuring VS. World Champion; Jason Hager squaring off with The Hulk—man too funny! I can’t get over how much Jason Hager looks like my older brother Jeff!

Also up is a bunch of Marvel Masterpieces sketch cards and my artist proofs. Fun set to work on and a nice give back to fans—I’m currently working on the next set of sketch cards for series Two.

That’s if for this week folks—I’m gearing up to work on some MAJOR MAJOR title for Wildstorm and man it is totally going to rock the Box! More news to come!

Finally... an update!
By Jonboy
Posted: February 6, 2008

Gadzooks! Sorry I know it’s been like 6 months since I last updated—I’ve just be SO busy with projects and what not—but here’s one massively large update and I’ll have more to come next month.

Before all the images I would like to comment on the Passing of a very talented artist and inspiration to me, Mr. Mike Ringo. I had the honor to meet Mike in person at the Heroes Con 2007 last year, swap sketchbooks and just gush over how cool his work is and what it meant to me…. ever the humble artist Mike looked back shrugged at me and said “ahh man my stuff is okay..”. He was such a humble guy and I hope he knew just how much both he and his work meant to a lot of us young guys coming up. Mike was talented, skilled, professional and fast—he could draw super fast-- He will be greatly missed, we miss you Mike god speed buddy. Mike’s work still lives on and do check it out: www.mikewieringo.com

Okay got some commissions to post up and I am a bit behind—I’ve got about 6 left to do—so if you’re waiting I have NOT forgotten about you—and I’ll def hook them up—just the projects here have been keeping me a bit busy and I don’t want to rush through them I really want each commission I do to be something special for folks! My Fav so far is the Robin and the Deadpool commissions I did—man what cool characters!

Also up are some World of Warcraft trading cards done like forever and a day ago—I’m currently working on more right now—though I won’t be able to post those until each set is release—but expect about 11 of them soon. Big ups to Tony Washington and Scotty Kester for the brilliant color work—you guys make me look golden!

Now these next cards are for the Upper Deck Vs. sets—the Galactus Raid set and the Worlds Finest and DC Legends Set. Again Mr. Scotty Kester on the Digital Color. Take a bow Scotty you’re the man!

If you’re not reading Green Lantern right now you outta have your head checked! Great book and mind blowing art too! My editor at DC—the very Cool and talented Adam Schlagman let me do a couple of character shots for the very massive Green Lantern Giant Size Secret files—thanks Adam! Hope all you guys dig them! Big things in store for the GL books this summer just you wait and see!

These next pages are all comic book pages and yes! My very first regular DC work starting on JLA #17 written by the Talented Dwayne McDuffie. They’re only backups—but all are posted in their raw penciled form. Hope you guys dig them—though I’m trying to edge my work in a more realistic direction—so hopefully the next pages you guys will see will be more rendering and more grounding.

The next batch is from the Gen 13 Armageddon One Shot written by the one and only Christos Cage—Chris is an awesome writer and one of the best in the biz! Colors by my buddy Tony Washington—thanks Tony you did a stellar job! Now I’ve received a lot of crappy emails from folks saying they really hated the art on it and it’s too Campbell-esque…. well that WAS the whole point. I grew up loving Jeff’s art on it and I really wanted to do something to give a nod to all the cool stuff Jeff, Alex and Brandon did on it back in the day. I am really not a fan of the book as it stands now—it’s TOO much of a departure from the old series…but some folks got it and some didn’t—I liked what we did on the book and if you don’t like it—I really don’t care. So there…

Another fun book was the Necromancer Pilot Season One Shot –written by the talented Joshua Ortega—it was a great book and fun too! It’s all a part of the whole vote for the next series books—so hopefully it’ll be among the winners—it would be a shame to see this book NOT continue…. it’s such a great book.

And last but not least is Ninja Scroll #11—man I really loved working on this book and it’s such a shame the book ended—great scripts by Kelly Puckett— I really love the characters and the Anime…. sigh it’s so sad the book is NOT around anymore….

We’ll that’s it for this month—stayed more updates to come!

Wooohooo updates! Okay got a couple for this week to post up—but first up—Just wanted to let all you folks know that be doing this year's San Diego Comic Con--I'll be sitting with my inker and bro Mark Irwin at Table: FF-03 and FF04--we'll have sketchbooks for sale for $15 and 11x17 Full Color Prints for sale for a measly $10! I'll also be taking commissions at the show for $75 each for 8.5x11 sizes and $150 for 11x17. But only 10 max--once slots are filled that's it!

I was fortunate enough to be able to work on Danger Girl Body Shots once again, this time pitching in on two pages in issue 4—I do hope you dig them. Cool colors by the Talented Jimmy C.

I was also able to do a cover for the Super Talented Jason Martin and his book Super Real vs. The Movie Industry — which comes out this November-I thought a cool homage Kill Bill Cover would be hella cool—def a fun cover to do and of course colors by the talented Scotty Kester! Image is with and without Cover creds….

A bit of Sad news….I was slated to work on a new Nemsis Mini-series for Wildstorm—but the schedule got changed around last minute and I had to pass on it since it’s conflicting with a 22 page Necromancer One Shot I’m doing for Top Cow... but here’s nice promo image Tony Washington (killer colorist) and myself put together... sigh…what could have been...

And of course my model sheet for the Necromancer One shot of main character Abbey! Enjoy!

Before I forget—I keep forgetting to post these up—but here are some commissions done for the Heroes Con a couple of weeks ago—and thanks guys for being so patient with those and letting me wrap them up in between jobs—you guys rule!!!

Anyhoo I hope to see you guys in SD—def stop by and say Howdy!

Sorry for the long wait in updates—just really been busy with projects—but fear not—got a lot of images to share! And I really appreciate all of you that stop by and check out the site—I know I need to do a much better job of updating the site….sorry for being such a slacker.

Okay got a couple of commissions to post up—one of Hawkeye (two versions), and a Nice Captain America shot for my good friend Justin Porter—I know Justin someday I’ll get his face right… and of a Tekken character. I’ve been playing around with bit map textures and gray scaling on my work—I know it’s a bit hit and miss and I’m still learning….someday I’ll get it right!

Also up are some new trading cards done for the new WOW card set—and a card image from the new forth coming Marvel Legends VS. Card set. This image has already been released and I’m so glad Upper Deck liked it so much to use it in the new promotions…thanks guys your way too good to me.

Here’s some Ninja Scroll pages as well and the Cover to Issue 9, which I’m not sure if I posted up or not. The sequential are from issue 8 (which is out now!) –I think this is one of the hardest fight scenes I’ve ever drawn—kudos to my Editor @ WS Scott Peterson for cracking the whip and pushing me artistically. I think these are the best pages I’ve done to date and I seldom like anything I draw so thanks Scott!

And I do appreciate all the Emails I get in regards to my work on Ninja Scroll—I’m so glad that all of you enjoy my work on the series—it really makes me push harder art-wise on every issue.

I’m working on issue 11 right now which sadly I think will be my last issue since I think the series caps at issue 12. After issue 11 I’m supposed to jump on a very cool mini-series for WS, hopefully after that I can do a Ninja Scroll special or something—I really enjoy working on this series and I do hope to get to work with regular NS series Writer J. Torres. I’m been such a big fan of his stuff for years and hopefully we’ll get to hook up on something someday….

Oh I’ll be doing Heroes Con this year and I’ll be sitting next to my inker Mark Irwin and the very Talented Sean Galloway and Joey Mason. I’ll have $10 prints for sale as well as my new 2007 Sketchbook for sale for a measly $15 each. It’s 32 pages of full color goodness, so I do hope you stop by and say hello. I will also be selling original art as well –so those of you who have been bugging me to purchase some art done for the WOW sets now’s your chance to own some pieces and at a very reasonable price.

I’ll do my best to do more Updates as I can—and those of you trying to contact me—I’ve got a new email for the site it’s:

Jonboy007007@msn.com

Cheers

Gahh! Been super busy working on stuff for Warcraft, UpperDeck and just wrapped up Issue 8 of Ninja Scroll for Wildstorm/DC Comics and currently working on Ninja Scroll Issue 11 and some commissions as well.

I finally have a free moment to do some much needed image updating! Quick note, just wanted to give a nice shout out to my Peeps at Megacon 2007—my first East Coast show in like forever. Had a great time—got to hang out with tons of cool folks and def want to thanks Sean “Cheeks” Galloway for sharing a table with me.

Big ups to Alberto, Joe Pekar, Kermit, San, Scotty, Troy,Tim Townsend, Brando Peterson, Noel, Ian Feller, Derec Donvan, and Shaun Ward for all the good times and Karaoke Madness. We def brought down the hizzle in Florida! Here’s some picts of the show and the great night out. I’m the one doing my “Blue Steel” poses.

The whole gang will be reuniting for Heroes Con 2007 and SDCC 2007 so don’t miss out on the fun!

Okay got some images! First up are 5 cards done for the new Upper Deck TCG Marvel Team-Up Set. I love the Cap card the best—all inks by Mark Irwin and colors by Scott Kester and Val Staples! Thanks guys great work!

Also have a single shot of Spidey swinging around—also colored by Scotty. This will end up being the cover to one of my 2007 sketchbooks so be on the lookout!

Also finished up the cover for Ninja Scroll issue 10—again Scott Kester on colors! We did two versions, I prefer the solid black version, but I’m not sure which will end up in print.

And some Wallpapers of Ninja Scroll courtesy of DC/Wildstorm and of Riot GRRRL so all you guys bugging me for Wallpaper—sorry for the wait!

I’ll talk to my Editor and See if I can post up some Ninja Scroll pages next week—def my best stuff and there’s a TON of fight scenes… I mean a TON!

CHEERS!

Well as you can see the site has been redone a bit, mostly due to the fact the old gallery was hacked somehow. There is a new system in place now, not only for the gallery but the entire site.

Up the top you'll see 2 links for user login and register, you will need to click on the register link to register with the site in order to leave comments on the news and gallery images posted on the site.

The user login is simply there for you to login so you can post, but you should only need to login once.

Anyway there are still some tweaks that I need to make on the site before it's fully finished, but for now 90% of it is up and running.
